“V” Family Session at home | Wisconsin Photographer

Wausau, Wisconsin Family Photographer Serving Madison, Milwaukee, Minocqua, and Beyond!

This was an amazing family session! The fun all started with planning. When this mom reached out to me for a family session we talked about her preference of in home or outdoors. She loved the idea of both, and I love showing the energy of family along with the snuggles; so in home and outdoor is great for that. This family also loved the area behind their house, which I was so excited about because it was beautiful!

Planning wardrobe was also so fun! This mom had beautiful style and had some great ideas for her daughter’s dresses. We set up a try on session a few weeks before their session so she could try on outfits from my client closet. Not only did she look amazing in everything, but she loved the look of many of them. We narrowed it down to her top three and decided to look at when her daughter’s outfits she ordered would come in. While deciding she found out a dress she had ordered for the holiday would actually be here in time for photos. It was a beautiful dress from one of my favorite shops to both suggest to clients and to stock my client closet with! (It’s one I may even add to my client closet!) In the end the outfits came together effortlessly.

It was a chilly morning in Wausau so we decided to keep the girls warm by throwing on cute jean jackets while we were outside. This family was so sweet and so much fun! They were up for everything. We laughed and played outside. We came in and they snuggled close. The great thing about in home family sessions is it was so easy to have their two cute dogs jumps in for a few family photos too!

During my family sessions it’s always important to me to do a few things. First of course I want to capture the energy and connection of the family. This means laughing, playing, and connecting in photos rather than stiff posing. Next it’s important to me to get those classic portraits of the kids. This was extra great because we were able to do this both in home and outdoors! Finally I always pull the parents together for a few couples photos. This is where it all started. I love to capture that love!

Let’s chat about a family session together!
