Wausau Wisconsin Family Photographer

In the mid-west, especially in Central Wisconsin like the Wausau area, as we get into the middle of autumn you never really know what kind of weather to expect. Some days you get what feels like a late summer day, sometimes it feels like winter. You may get sun, snow, rain - you just never know.

We met at one of my favorite spot in Wausau. When I met this family for their session it was a windy overcast day. While I always love and hope for a beautiful sunset sky, I’m never angry about a beautiful moody sky! There is just something about it! And wind, oh wind, it may not feel like it but I promise the windy can help make an epic shot! I was so happy this mama was happy with the moody sky we got too!

We spent a bit of the evening together laughing and playing as we capture their family photos. I couldn’t stop smiling at this sweet little boy and the cutest pup! …and the parents, let me tell you…I have my tricks to pull authentic connection and honest joy from my couples and families; even from the self proclaimed “awkward in front of the camera type”. But I pulled these parents close for their photos, it was fireworks...truly, I blushed under my mask capturing it and said “wow” out loud while editing

…and if you were wondering, yes, your pets are always welcome at your family photos! I’ve even had people drive from Madison or Milwaukee to have photos with me and bring their dogs! (Of course having an in home session is a great and easy way to have your pets plane involved and not worry how they will do through a session!)
