As a Wisconsin family photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of having many families in front of my camera over the years.

It is amazing to see each family’s unique dynamic unfold in front of the camera. No two families have ever been the same. They laugh and joke differently. They snuggle and love in their own ways. That’s the beautiful thing about professional family photos. It’s so much more than a quick snapshot. It’s a thoughtfully created journal of this part of your story.

Over the years your life has a family has changed and evolved. From sleepless nights and lots of firsts with your new baby. To lots of laughter with your silly toddler. And watching personalities grow in your big kids and teens. A professional photographer knows how to tell where you are in your story without words.

Don’t get me wrong, take all the family selfies! Always ask a friend or family member to snap a cell phone shot when you’re together. There is absolutely a place for those photos!

But there is something special about seeing your family love from an outside perspective; especially someone who can turn that into beautiful art!

And let’s be honest, if you are taking family photos on your own, it’s usually one person; and that one person is rarely on the photos. So many times this is moms. We are so great about taking photos of the first day of school, a snapshot of the family at the zoo, or while they’re snuggled up watching a movie. But where are you? Of course you were there, loving and laughing with them but there’s no trace of you in most of the photos.

There is something so special about a mother’s love. You and your kids deserve beautiful photos that persevere those memories! From the time their head fits on your hand to when they are taller than you; that love deserves documented and preserved!
