There’s something incredibly special about senior photography sessions, and this one was no exception. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful senior girl who wanted her photos to be natural, fun, and filled with the beauty of nature. We ventured to three stunning locations in the Wausau area: a beautiful field, Rib Mountain, and my favorite creek. Her beloved dogs joined us, adding even more joy and fun to the session.
When she and her mom reached out to me, they had a general idea of what they wanted but were open to my expertise in planning the session. They described her as shy, quiet, and laid back. She was nervous about the session and wanted the photos to reflect her true self. Incorporating nature and flowers was a must, and we did just that - beautifully! You would never know she was “shy” or nervous, her photos look confident and fun, like she’s a natural in front of the camera! I loved seeing her let go and have fun throughout our session! Her mom loved that we captured beautiful portraits full of natural smiles.
We started in a great location in the Wausau area that gave us the feeling of a serene field filled with wildflowers as well as lush greenery. The vibrant colors and open space provided a perfect backdrop for capturing her natural beauty. Her initial nervousness faded as she saw how effortlessly beautiful the photos were turning out. This is were we had her adorable dogs join the photos!
Next, we moved to Rib Mountain. This is an iconic spot in the Wausau area. The breathtaking views and diverse landscapes offered so many creative possibilities. We found some amazing spots that showcased both her personality and the stunning surroundings.
Finally, we headed to my favorite creek. It’s a drive outside of Wausau, but so worth it! The water, rocks, and greenery created a tranquil setting where we could capture some truly unique and memorable shots. This spot is a little hidden gem that is so charming and perfect!
Throughout the planning process, I provided guidance on locations and outfits to ensure everything aligned perfectly with her vision. During the session I helped her forget about my camera and embrace just hanging out and having fun. The result? Photos that exceeded their expectations. She and her mom were blown away by the final images and couldn’t stop raving about how natural and fun the experience was.
This senior session was a perfect blend of nature, personal touches, and genuine moments. It's always a joy to help clients feel comfortable and confident, resulting in photos that they will cherish forever.
